Avencia develops innovative, web-based software that uses mapping technologies and geography to solve complex, interesting, and novel problems. We have particular expertise in natural resource planning, economic development, crime analysis, real estate property analysis, and cultural resources, but are engaged in a wide range of other interesting projects.
We are looking for someone with a great sense of color, contrast, and proportion; “clean” yet sharp aesthetics; and who would like to work for a small, young and innovative company. Our projects & products involve maps, geography, & spatial analysis. If that speaks to you, then we are the right place for you.
You will work closely with Avencia’s software development teams to design, skin and create user interfaces for our web-based software applications. You will also collaborate with the marketing staff to design & build our product web sites, design marketing collateral for marketing campaigns, & maintain the branding of the company & our products.
Job Description:
Full-time position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Design and construct web pages, web sites, and navigation elements, generally incorporating dynamic content and interface controls
* Design and skinning of Avencia’s product web sites (created and maintained in our content management system, DotNetNuke)
* HTML, CSS and graphic design and skinning of new web site features
* Redesign existing web sites and web-based applications
* Develop and maintain branding guidelines and standards
* Develop new product logos
* Design marketing collateral as needed
Skills:
* Excellent knowledge of standards-based XTHML, CSS, and JavaScript Knowledge of interface design for web applications
* Knowledge of the DotNetNuke framework
* Strong knowledge of graphic design software: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
* Work autonomously as well as with a group
* 1-3 years of applicable experience
